While October is known for its Halloween treats, the foodie world is giving us plenty of tricks and treats. No matter if you’re craving something savory, sweet or are looking ahead, the food world is moving right along with you.
In the last installment, we talked about some great releases from companies like Raising Cane’s, M&M’s and Friendly’s. With October zooming by though, this week’s list is going to be a mixed bag.
Whether you’re looking ahead to Thanksgiving or just want something to munch on while watching your favorite Halloween movies, we’ve got you covered.
As a Taco Bell lover, the first item of business has to be Taco Bell’s newest release which is pictured above. Taco Bell’s newest item is the Flamin’ Hot Grilled Cheese Burrito. In a press release from Taco Bell, it is described as “The all new Flamin’ Hot® Rice is joined by nacho cheese sauce, seasoned beef, creamy chipotle sauce, Fritos® Flamin Hot’® chips, reduced fat sour cream, three-cheese blend, and a layer of melty grilled cheese on the outside for a boldly cheesy, spicy, crunchy bite.” As you can see, it’s a mouthful but no doubt a spicy treat for those who enjoy.
While the Flamin’ Hot Grilled Cheese Burrito is Taco Bell’s newest, the brand also brought back some favorites including Nacho Fries, its Crispy Chicken Strips and multiple different Frank’s RedHot items. If spice is your thing, Taco Bell has you covered.

No holiday season would be complete without Cup Noodles. This year, the brand is giving us two unique flavors for the season. First up is the Pumpkin Pie Flavor which is naturally for Halloween. The Pumpkin Pie Flavor is no doubt the most unique of the two as it “delivers satisfying pumpkin flavor blended with caramelized brown sugar sweetness and signature pie spices that feel like a bite of moist homemade pumpkin pie.” Sounds like something pumpkin spice lovers would be down to try.
Next up is the Turkey Dinner Flavor for those wanting an alternative to the classic Thanksgiving dinner. This flavor “combines the rich essence of herb-seasoned turkey broth with sweet corn, tangy cranberry bursts, crisp green beans, warming spices, and tender noodles.” While this might not be for everyone, the taste of this is sure to tantalize someone out there.

Speaking of Thanksgiving, ALDI is making sure we can plan ahead for this year and the chain dropped its $40.00 Thanksgiving spread. In the press release, ALDI shares that shoppers can get 21 items including your turkey, gravy mix, boxed mac & cheese, sweet potatoes, green beans and much more. It is basically a cheat code on how to get the cheapest yet tastiest Thanksgiving meal possible. The best part of it? The meal is for 10 people, making it more than enough for a smaller family.

No list would be complete without talking about Dunkin’ and one of the coolest releases from the chain is its Halloween offerings. This year, the two biggest are pictured above. First is the Candy Bar Signature Latte, “a decadent blend of chocolate, toffee, pretzel and peanut butter flavors paired with rich espresso,” which was shared via Dunkin’s press release. You can also see that it’s topped with candy pieces as well.
The Spider Donut is also making a comeback and not just in donut form. The brand also introduced some fun spider-themed merchandise which seems to already be sold out according to the website. Then again, maybe we’ll get a restock before Halloween gets here.

Ortega is giving us a new take on Taco Tuesday with its new release which are Cheez-It Flavored Taco Shells. The brand’s press release put it best, “Every bite starts with a bold burst of cheesy flavor and ends with Ortega’s signature crunch that’s perfect for mealtime or snack time.” I don’t know about you, but I’d love to try this and see if it’s as good as it looks. Currently, these delights are rolling out at Target before going to other chains nationwide.
Last but not least, I have to end with a deal for my fellow foodies on a budget which is honestly most of us. On October 23rd, you can get a free slider for Dave’s Hot Chicken if you download the app and scan the reward. This is in honor of Drake’s birthday who invested in Dave’s Hot Chicken. Whether you have a Dave’s Hot Chicken near you or not, it’s worth looking into especially if you’re trying it for the first time.
