Summer is here and that means hot days and for some of us, vacations and relaxation. This could mean books, cold drinks and plenty of self-care. Luckily we have Sonic to help with those cold drinks.

Just in time for summer, Sonic released their new Sweet Topped Lemonades in three flavors. We are talking about a Classic, Strawberry and even a Blueberry Lavender flavor that will change the way you sip this summer, after all cold foam and lemonade is the combination we never knew we needed.

But the real magic comes from the collaboration with BookTok favorite, Ashley Poston, as they promote the Limeades for Learning initiative that helps to raise money for reading in classrooms. And I had the opportunity to talk to Ashley about partnering with Sonic!

Ashley Poston and Sonic are bringing the heat this summer with Cold Foam topped Lemonade

Kimberley: What made you want to partner with Sonic?

Ashley Poston: “Well, at first I was like, Sonic? Like the drive in fast food? They’re like, yeah. And I was like, Oh my gosh…So I’m from South Carolina, and I’m from a smaller town. And the one thing that we always did in high school was, after I had marching band practice, we would go to Sonic and we would get limeades or milkshakes. And it was one of the best parts of summer. So the fact that I get to partner with Sonic now to actually talk about not only the drinks, which I kind of grew up drinking, but also partnering with them on their limeades for learning where a portion of every drink goes to local education. It was a no brainer.”

Kimberley: Speaking of the limeades for education, did you know about the program before partnering with them?

Ashley Poston: “I did not actually, I learned about it when Sonic came to me and was like, ‘Hey, we would love for you to be a part of this.’ And so I’m really kind of sad that I didn’t know about it before, but I’m really excited to now be part of it.”

Kimberley: What is your go-to Sonic order?

Ashley Poston: “I will say that I am as basic as they come. I love their cherry limeades so much. It is the taste of my childhood, and I’m a sucker for nostalgia.”

Kimberley: What do you think that Elsie from A Novel Love Story would order if she went to Sonic?

Ashley Poston: “Oh that’s tough. So Elsie likes to try new things. And she’s the Intrepid go getter. In A Novel Love Story, she goes on a road trip by herself when all of her friends bail on her, like adult friends sometimes do, because you have obligations. But I think she would actually try one of the new sweet topped lemonades. Actually, she’d be like, ooh, because it’s sweet and it has cold foam on top of it. And Elsie, like me, is also pretty basic, so she also likes cold brew. So I think that would be her thing.”
