There are some series you read and it’s clear you’re going to enjoy them from the start. That’s exactly how I felt with the Tita Rosie’s Kitchen Mystery series by Mia P. Manansala.

Since the series began publishing in 2021, I’ve been keeping up with it and it’s hard to believe we’re at the final book. Entitled Death and Dinuguan, Lila, her Brew-ha besties, the Calendar Crew and the Park Brothers are back to solve another mystery.

This time though, things are a little closer to home but we’ll touch on that in a moment. Honestly if you’ve been waiting for this series to wrap up or just want a fun cozy mystery to try out, then Tita Rosie’s Kitchen Mystery series is the perfect place to start.

It’s really fun while also being incredibly easy to get into. There is just something so undeniably addictive about the series so once you start, you won’t be able to stop. I’d like to thank Berkley for sending me an ARC so I could read this one early.

As you might imagine, things are going swimmingly for Lila but of course, that means disaster is about to strike. The story begins with a string of burglaries around town, most notably to female-owned businesses. Of course, things quickly get very personal.

The latest business in town, Choco Noir gets hits but it doesn’t just end up in some simple theft. Unfortunately, the Park Brothers’ cousin, Hana is injured during the burglary and her partner, Blake is dead. From there, Lila and the rest of her friends and family start to investigate what happened and who could be responsible.

While I don’t want to get into too many details, things do play out as you might imagine. However if you’re invested in this series, then you’ll probably enjoy this installment. It has all those delicious food descriptions we’ve come to know and love along with recipes in the back. Additionally, we get more relationship moments between Lila and Jae which is always such a sweet surprise.

Ultimately, this was a great way to end the Tita Rosie’s Kitchen Mystery series and I’m excited to see what’s next for Mia P. Manansala. Given that I read this series from start to finish as they were publishing, I already trust her as an author.

Death and Dinuguan by Mia P. Manansala is out now where books are sold.
