Getting ready for back to school season can mean stocking up on easy lunchtime options. Often, we are looking for affordable, tasty, and nutritious options. However, there is also an OG lunchtime treat that can really work in a pinch. Lunchables have been a staple of quick and easy lunches on-the-go for years.

And over the years, they have certainly added a wide range of options when it comes to Lunchables meals. Not only do you have the classic crackers and cheese options, but they have expanded to include nachos, pizzas, and even sandwiches. Yet there is no denying that the OG cheese and crackers is hard to resist for a lot of us. In fact, it was our introduction to charcuterie.

On a personal level, one of the best classic cheese and cracker combinations has to be their mozzarella and pepperoni. It’s such a delicious option, and it feels like a classic combination. And while we would love to recommend this as a back to school treat, it’s hard to do that when you know that it won’t be easy for people to eat on-the-go.

The big problem with this particular flavor of Lunchables is the fact that the cheese clumps together. It does not come apart as the slices that it goes into the package as. So when you start to build your cracker sandwiches, you just have a block of mozzarella cheese. And if you’re at school, how are you going to separate the cheese? At home, at least you could take out a knife and make your own slices. But that is not an option at school.

While this OG flavor might be a favorite for a lot of us, it’s definitely one that we struggle to recommend for taking to school. We don’t know how the brand can fix this, but it’s definitely something we see more often with this particular flavor than any other. And we can’t be the only ones struggling this way.

Ultimately, this is still a favorite flavor from Lunchables and we won’t stop buying it. We just have to remember that when it comes time to separate the cheese, we might just need a knife.
