Are you looking for something new to watch this summer? Are you a fan of book adaptations? Do you love a historical fiction that doesn’t feel like the same old story? Then the upcoming Hulu series, Washington Black, might be exactly what you have been waiting for.

Based on the book of the same name, the first trailer for the upcoming series Washington Black has officially dropped. Set in the 1800s, this is the story of a young boy, George Washington “Wash” Black, born into slavery in Barbados who finds himself living an unexpected life thanks to his more inquisitive mind and aptitude for science.

Wash ends up working alongside the brother of the plantation owner and as these two get closer, an unexpected event leads to the two escaping the islands and going off on an adventure that changes Wash’s life completely.

If you have read the book, Washington Black, then you likely already know what to expect from this new Hulu series. But thanks to the magic of TV, it seems like they are bringing a touch of whimsy to the story in a way that comes to life thanks to the stars of the series.

Over the course of eight episodes, we will get to see how Wash goes from being a slave to traveling the world and living a life that he could never have imagined. With a cast that includes Sterling K. Brown, Tom Ellis, Edward Bluemel, and Ernest Kinglsey Jr, we know that we will be getting amazing performances throughout the story. In fact, the trailer itself delivered on that idea of brilliant acting, with compelling moments that have us ready to tune in as soon as the series drops on Hulu.
